You’ve done a podcast interview, a couple weeks went by, now your podcast interview has gone live. Now what do you do? How do you promote your podcast interview? The podcast host has sent you an email letting you know that the podcast has gone live and they are looking for you to share it. And you may be thinking to yourself, well that sounds great, but what exactly should I do? So there’s a couple different things here.
One, you could create social media clips if the podcast host already hasn’t done it for you. A lot of the times good quality podcasts will create a quote card. Maybe they’ll cut up a couple of clips for you and send those over to you. If they have not done that for you, then you would want to request access to the full interview. And 99 % of the time podcast hosts are going to do that. And in a previous podcast episode and in a previous YouTube video, I walk you through how to create social media content.
from your interview so I would watch that and you would want to share your interview out on social media. like my biggest social media platform is LinkedIn. So when I’m on a podcast interview, I want to take it and I want to share it across my LinkedIn network. And when I’m sharing it out to my LinkedIn network, I want to make sure that I’m tagging the podcast host. Now by tagging the podcast host, they’re going to know that I took the appreciation of being on their podcast. I took the time to share it out to my audience because you can imagine the podcast host.
It takes a lot of time to do a podcast interview. We’re not even talking about researching finding the guests and whatnot. It talks about the time preparing for the podcast interview. When I’m interviewing a guest, I can’t just hop on to the podcast interview and just do it. I want to take a look at their background. I want to check them out. I want to make sure that I come well prepared with good questions to ask them. I don’t want to just hop on to the interview, so that’s going to take up some time.
then my team’s gonna have to take it. They’re gonna have to edit it, put it out there, clip it up, put it out there on social media. I have to pay them for their time. That’s gonna also take more, because I’m paying them for their time, that’s gonna take their time away from other tasks that they could be helping me out with. So there’s a lot that goes into it. The least I could do is show some appreciation to the podcast host and share my podcast interview. So I recommend that aspect of it. Another one would be sharing your podcast to your email list. Again, the podcast host took all this time to go through.

to create your podcast interview or to conduct the podcast interview, to put it together, to share it out there. The least you could do is send it out to your email list. So those are definitely the two aspects that you want. You want to be creating social media clips and you want to be sending it out to your email list. And if you’re unsure, how do I send it out to my email list? What I do is I just use a simple strategy of all this, pull the title of the interview, maybe the…
The hell the show notes page a recap. I’ll take that and I’ll throw it into chat GPT Say hey, I was on this podcast interview titled, you know X Y & Z with podcast host X Y & Z Can you create a short little? Email that I can send out to my email list and you know Go through maybe take a minute and I’ll put together a nice little email. I’ll read through it See how it sounds. Maybe it’s formal. Maybe it sounds it’s too short. I’ll go through all spliced up I’ll edit it from there, but at least that’s a starting
and then I can schedule it out to go to my email list. So I recommend that if you send out like a weekly newsletter and you’re going on a ton of podcasts, maybe you just linked every interview that you’ve been on in that week that’s been released and you say, Hey, here are the new podcasts that I’ve been on. You can check it out here. So I recommend that as well. And then the third step to a lot of people I see don’t do where as we start to go down this list, I see people share it on social media, but then not as many people share
to their email list and then even less people add the podcast interview to their website. And it’s very simple. You could just have like a media section on your website and just list every single podcast interview that you’ve done. A tool I’ve recommended on this podcast and on this YouTube channel that I use is called Raphonic. And by using Raphonic, I’m able to search my name. And even if the podcast interview I did went live or the podcast host didn’t let me know,
I can still go out and check it out and I can add it to our website. I like to do that. I usually do that on the first of each month and just adding it to my website. This is now for prospective investor, a perspective and client comes to us. They go to the media section on our website and they can check out and listen to an interview that I’ve done. So I highly recommend doing that as well. mean, at the end of the day, what you put into the podcast interview is going to be what you get out or promoting the podcast interview is going to be what you get out of it.

You took all this time again, 30, 60 minutes of your time. The least you could do is share it amongst your audience. And then maybe people hear you. They see you in the email newsletter and they listen to the interview. Maybe they see the social media clip that you put together and share it out from your podcast. And then they get more intrigued. Maybe they follow you. That’s the start of a nice organic relationship. There’s checking out your content and then who knows maybe a couple of months down the line, they become your client, but that would never happen if you didn’t promote your podcast interview. So
Those are the three steps that I recommend to anyone when comes to when they ask me how to, should they promote their podcast interview.
