Today I want to go over the different types of equipment you need as a podcast guest and there really doesn’t need to be a ton to it. The first equipment piece for equipment that you need would be a good quality podcast microphone. You can go out and get the Blue Yeti microphone for about 50 bucks. I personally use the Blue Yeti microphone. I believe it’s about a little over a hundred, maybe about 120 bucks. I’ve also used the Audio Technica

had a microphone as well. That one’s been good. Again, anywhere from 50 to a hundred bucks to get a good quality podcast microphone. I also recommend a good quality webcam. I believe that I purchased my webcam on Amazon for about 30 bucks. It really wasn’t that expensive. It was just a good quality one. And I use it on all my podcast interviews that I do because I found that the quality

on my camera on my Mac, it was good, but I wanted to take it to the next level, which is why I bought the webcam. So those are the first two pieces of equipment that I recommend you use. Another piece of equipment that I use from time to time, all the time, but as a ring light. So I have this ring light that I attached to my desk. As an example, I was doing a bunch of podcast interviews last week and it was raining out.

and it was definitely cloudy out. It was a little darker out. So it just made the room I was in just made it look fairly dark. So I wanted to lighten up my background. So what I did is I have this ring light. I attach it to my desk and then I’m able to bend it over the back of my computer. I’m basically like making almost like a backwards J shape. So and I plug it into my computer, turn it on and then I can go up and down the different depending on how bright.

or how dull that I want it to be. And that just brightens up my whole background where normally I wouldn’t be able to do that. Again, I don’t feel as though I need it all the time, but I do like to have it just in case I’m doing an interview or if I’m doing an interview, say at night during the winter, especially in New York, it gets dark at like 2 30, three o’clock doing it during that time period of the day. Outside of that.

You could buy headphones. personally don’t use headphones when I’m doing interviews, but I people have bought headphones and same thing and go to Amazon and go from anywhere from 30, 40, 50. And then obviously you go way higher up when it comes to having headphones for your podcast interviews. Another thing with headphones is that you could have as a podcast arm. So for those watching, you could see

I have the arm on the right side of my desk and then I hold the podcast basically like right in front of my voice. So that way I’m talking directly into it like right in front of me. The mic is being held up. And for those listening, hopefully that was a good accurate description before you see you go out there. You can buy a podcast arm. You can buy different mixers that are going to be a little bit more expensive. But again, if you want to make your, your podcast, whether a guest or hosting, make it sound even more professional. You can definitely go that route, but just like bare bones.

Essentially, you got to get a good quality podcast Microphone and then outside of that there’s so many different things I mean you could soundproof your room by adding different pieces of foam to your room You could have your own little podcast studio, but I mean if we’re talking like hey, I just want to go on podcasts I want to host my own podcast like what’s the bare-bones essential that I need? Get a good quality podcast microphone. You’re gonna want a good webcam and then really outside of that you’re gonna want to ring light again

You might not use it all the time, but I find it worth it. But I hope that helps to point you in the right direction of the different types of equipment that you’re going to need.
